Thos. Moser D.C. Showroom to

Showcase Works from Local Artist Naomi Chung

“INSPIRED BY NATURE” to run January 3 through April 30

Auburn, Maine (December 2006) – As part of its “alternative gallery space” program, which highlights national and local artists in each of its showrooms, Thos. Moser Cabinetmakers, designers and builders of heirloom quality hand-crafted wood furniture, announced that its Washington, D.C. showroom will feature the work of well-known painter and McLean resident Naomi Chung.  Chung’s works will be on display at the showroom through April 30, 2007.

“We are thrilled to have Naomi Chung’s work in our showroom,” says Kristi Kamps, vice president of marketing at Thos. Moser Cabinetmakers.  “Our showroom is a perfect venue in which to display her work, with our beautiful handmade furniture that is art in its own right.  We are proud to work with artists at our showrooms across the country, both to enhance our space visually and to provide a place for art lovers to view exciting works.  The synergy of the two forms of art provides a great impact.”

Chung’s landscapes and florals reflect nature not only as an image but also as an event, in which she is able to find expressive meaning and value in the seemingly random patterns.  She regards the combined colors, textures, and movements of birds, grass and a hurricane wind as a carefully orchestrated yet unrehearsed symphony and gathers characters from the landscape and allows them to interact on the canvas.

The showroom is located at 3300 M Street NW and the phone number is 202-338-4292.
